It's probably slim chances that anyone actually remembers the old Brrapp Records web page. If you do, great! If not, here's the skinny:
Brrapp.com was the homepage of Brrapp Records, one of the first record labels to make an appearance on the web. Although we didn't have the technology to do shopping carts or take credit card orders, we did a pretty good business using the internet to extend our mail order catalog. Wasn't too bad for the time.
But, surprisingly, the most popular part of the Brrapp.com page was the DIY Diary. Basically, my idea for the DIY diary was "an inside look into the music industry", and it contained a bunch of information about starting your own record label, and how various aspects of owning a record label worked. It was a blog before there were blogs. I got the most emails about the DIY Diary, and it even got mentioned in Maximum Rock and Roll at least once!
So now that The Gain is reuniting for Slovenly's 15th anniversary shows, some new interest in the DIY Diary has popped up. So for the benefit of posterity, I present to you all six DIY Diary blogs in the entirety, complete and unedited. (errors and all!)
